About Us

The CAAA represents members marketing both large-scale compressors for industrial applications, and smaller compressors whose users include workshops or DIY consumers.

The CAAA supports the compressed air industry by:

  • Advocating the interests of its members before government and the public
  • Promoting self-regulation to improve safety and quality
  • Developing sound strategies for industry growth

The Compressed Air Association of Australasia (CAAA) is a division of the Air & Mine Equipment Institute of Australasia (AMEI). AMEI is a non-profit organisation and has operated since 1968. Membership is drawn from Australia and New Zealand compressed air & mine equipment companies. AMEI and CAAA are managed by The Fifth Estate, a boutique strategic advice consultancy. CAAA members supply:

  • portable & stationary air & gas compressors including large sized air compressors for manufacturing industry, mining & construction as well as small to medium sized commerical compressors
  • compressed air treatment equipment such as dryers, fillers and oil/water separators

Objectives

Promotion and furthering of the public interest in relation to the compressed air industry by:

  • collecting and disseminating information of value to its members and to the public;
  • seeking improvements in the goods and services which the industry offers to the public;
  • representing members before government and other bodies in matters relating to the industry;
  • engaging in educational and research activities relating to the industry;
  • developing and publishing standards and engineering information for air and gas compressors and pneumatic and hydraulic mining machinery.

Raising the level of awareness by customer groups, governments and the general public, of our industry and its contribution to the mining and construction industries - the backbone of the economy.

Providing a strong and co-ordinated industry voice on importnat issues such as:

  • noise regulations and environmental issues
  • taxes and charges such as sales tax and import duty rates
  • safety and health in the work place
  • product liability
  • pressure Vessel design codes
  • education
  • the development of relevant Australian and New Zealand Standards
  • non-genuine spare parts and unauthorised reverse engineering
  • business ethics
  • protection of intellectual property
  • product reliability and safety

Developing its membership to maintain at least 80% coverage of each industry sector

Making and maintaining contact with other industry associations and key government and regulatory groups with the specific goal of becoming the "voice" of our industry

Providing total market information and industry statistics on a regular basis for the use of members

Providing its members with a long-term investment return on their fees and involvement by providing the highest quality in terms of membership, services and people.
